Event Details

Enhance your cocktail making abilities through science! Where do the worlds of cannabis and cocktails collide? Cannabis gets its distinct fragrance from a variety of aroma molecules (largely terpenes) that occur naturally in the plant, and with the legalization of recreational cannabis in Michigan, consumers now have the ability to easily choose from many strains offering vastly different scents and flavors. Many of those same aroma molecules also exist in other herbs and spices, spirits and tinctures, creating an interesting interplay between cannabis and cocktails. In this class, we’ll smell terpene samples that are common to both cannabis and cocktails, and create drinks inspired by some of our favorite strains.

The class price includes a kit containing terpene samples and ingredients to make 2 kinds of cannabis-inspired cocktails. Alas, you must supply your own cannabis. Kits can be picked up at Castalia during the week preceding the event during our regular hours.

This class is targeted toward the cocktail enthusiast that wants a deeper look at the science behind cocktails. We will spend less time on cocktail making, and more time on the understanding the basis of why spirits and cocktails work.

This is a virtual online class limited to 10 connections, but multiple people can participate at each connection. Ingredient kits are sized to provide the equivalent of 2 cocktails to 2 people. The meeting link will be provided the day before the class via email.
