Event Details

Galerie Camille is pleased to present Passport To Infinity, a group exhibition where extra spatial dimensions are explored, rivers of electricity are magnetized and flowing in parallel lines, striped fields and shadows have been decontextualized, cloudy themes recur and patterns emerge until familiar characters appear in the mirror but resurfaced, flipped and reversed. Passport To Infinity is a brilliant explosion of color and light; It features three artists; Davin Brainard, Dion Fischer and Warren Defever; all who share a love of primary colors, hard edges and easily attainable and readily affordable art supplies like spray paint, plexiglass, cardboard stencils and plywood canvases.
Passport To Infinity is a celebration and exploration of the fourth dimension, science fiction, witchcraft, train trestle overpasses once popular graffiti targets now painted sky blue with simple white clouds, the other eye, frogs with a human butt, stripes, logs, TV, drugs and other miscellaneous explorations. Low subject matter, infinity and the infinite point of a projective line, secret language and cats as not only fearsome nocturnal predators in the physical world but in the spiritual realm as well.
An artist talk with curator, Dalia Reyes will be held Saturday, May 8 at 2pm. Several other events including live music performances, film viewings, a meditation and a closing party are included in the exhibition. An event calendar will be posted on the Galerie Camille website on opening night April 30 (which also happens to fall on Warren Defever’s Birthday).
Under a variety of aliases including Princess Dragon-Mom, an art collective / Aktionist noise group, Brainard, Fischer and Defever’s work has presented at Kunstraum Kreuzberg / Bethanien, (Berlin), Museum of Contemporary Arts Detroit, Busan Biennale, (South Korea), Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen (Rotterdam), Contemporary Arts Center (Cincinnati), Institute of Contemporary Arts (London) as well as many galleries and weird underground art spaces throughout the United States, Europe and Japan.
