Event Details

Virtual Dance Collaboratory teaches students how to build media projects and collaborate with other university stakeholders on media-related artwork and outputs. In this clas students to learn how to build digital dance content that critically reflects their own creative and collective interests. We use a student-led, artist collective structure to support project-based work. Faculty and Staff along with a small team of Graduate Students facilitate and mentor all student projects and partnerships. Enrolled students have many opportunities for leadership, agency, and decision-making power. Together, students create meaningful arts content including various forms of media, including but not limited to mobile phone screendances, dance project video documentation, podcasts, and social media content. At the end of the semester, students design and produce their own student showcase, which is promoted to the public.
